These one of a kind ceramic sculptures are glazed using the raku process, where organic materials are added directly to the hot surface of the clay at the end of the firing process. This gives a unique texture and appearance to each piece. This piece takes strong Buddhist cues, in the earlobes and the seated pose of the figure. However the face and crown are the artist's own concepts.
