We’re live at the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market beginning tomorrow through January 14 and we look forward to seeing all of you who are attending. Dallas Winter Market Excitement

Lightovation, which also opens tomorrow and runs through the 11th, is a dynamic segment of the design scene, as it’s the city’s International Lighting Show that takes place twice each year, in January and June. It is billed as the largest residential lighting show in North America because it encompasses one-million square feet of exhibits representing all categories of lighting for the home and hospitality environments. This includes indoor and outdoor, and decorative and architectural. If it relates to lighting, it will likely be in the mix, and technological advancements will also be front-and-center. There’s a special Interior Designer Preview Day taking place today that offers trade-focused programming, tours, and networking opportunities. We are eager to unveil the large array of lighting we will be debuting in Dallas so if you’re on the campus for the preview, we hope you’ll make your way to our showroom for a sneak-peek!

The 35th Annual ARTS Awards will be celebrated this year. We are nominated for an award for the lamps category this go-around. “This award honors products, obviously, but also takes into account sustainability efforts, marketing initiatives, corporate citizenship, employee engagement and well-being, and more,” says our Vice President of Marketing Jenny Heinzen York. “These are areas where Currey really shines, especially when it comes to what we do for our team members. From wellness and fitness programs to continuing education, including funding four-year degrees and master’s level programs, employee empowerment is a top priority for our organization.”

All of these factors figure in the nomination process so we are keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll bring home the trophy! If you’re attending market, the Gala evening when the awards will be presented takes place on Friday, January 10, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel’s Chantilly Ballroom. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m.; dinner is at 7; and the gala presentation soon follows. The ARTS Awards is the premier program in the U.S. that honors top manufacturers, retailers, designers, and sales representatives for excellence so we feel quite honored to be considered.

“Dallas market is an important kick-off to the show season and the year ahead,” York notes. “Lighting showrooms, furniture stores, and interior designers will have lots to see this season, as we roll out our most recent product introduction. Most of the newest designs are already in stock and ready to ship.” She adds,” We will be serving lunch every day during the show, including our locally world-famous pizza bakers on Friday, making fresh pies right in the showroom.”

Given this is the first post of the New Year, we are launching into 2025 with a sense of expectation, just as the trend-analysts behind the Paris tradeshow Maison & Objet are embracing. As they say, “after resilience, optimism is in sight.” Their geopolitical point of view is a sophisticated one and they declare, “One thing’s for sure: specifiers will continue to walk the aisles of professional trade events [in 2025]. Seventy-eight percent of them have said that trade fairs are their top source of inspiration.” We’re happy to know that we contribute to this stimulation for those in our industry: Happy New Year, everyone!
