2025 Las Vegas Winter Market
January 21, 2025
The winter shows have been coming at us fast and furious, and today we share details about the last of three we’ve hosted in a single month—both Dallas and Atlanta are behind us as we wing our way back west to be on hand for the Las Vegas Winter Market. We’ll be showing off our new introductions from January 26 through 29 in the World Market Center, Building C, Suite 398. There are a slew of happenings taking place during the three-day event, which you can see here.
Las Vegas Winter Market
As we are holding court in our little corner of Vegas, we have an important event to announce. On Monday, January 27 from 3 to 5 pm local time, Angie Kenny and Jenny Heinzen York will discuss “What is Sustainable Design?” This all-important subject is an important one for our company so please stop by to see what news they will be sharing about sustainable practices and take a tour to see some of our most environmentally friendly products. The discussion and tour will take place amongst our well-lit and well-formed creations as we introduce a hefty number of special pieces that transcend their function to become objects of beauty—our latest accessories. We’ve been upping the ante on craftsmanship, creativity, and quality as we have been sourcing for this category in recent years, and we will be debuting offerings that fit into each of the trends our Vice President/Creative Director Cecil Adams has identified for this year. In his style notes, he advises, “Mix it up!” and predicts that modern has leaned significantly toward clean and uncluttered.
“Wellness equals comfort and harmony in the one place an individual may have control over—the home,” Cecil adds. “Umbrella styles ‘In Neutral,’ ‘20’s Contemporary,’ ‘Modern Farmhouse,’ and ‘St. Barts’ continue to meld and evolve.” To these tried-and-true categories, he says to add elements of 18th-century romantic Italian, French, and English design; to include statement pieces in a mix of materials; to tap new finishes to complement warmer neutrals; and to choose elements that exude whimsy. We have accessories in each of his identified style stories that will bring his predictions to life.
“In Neutral,” for instance includes cleansing and calming colors for less stressful living, and natural materials like stones and rough clays. We introduced decorative boxes and trays in an array of beautifully patterned stones this go-around and neutral tones have a commanding place in the lineup. The Dezi Box made of travertine and the Freya Round Tray made of marble have an immense amount of character, as does Leonard Churchill the Bulldog, whose personality is enlivened by a raw terracotta surface with a heavily textured sense of movement. Neutral color introductions include the pale ivory Ensemble Object Set and the Venus sculpture set.
We have a wide array of accessories that fit seamlessly into the Bronze Age story, as you can see from this blog post we put up on December 10th. New introductions also fit perfectly within his Milano style story, which he describes as having inspirations from some of the greatest names in Italian design, including Gio Pointi, Ettore Sottsass, Gaetano Sciolari, and Cini Boeri. “Textures are smoother and more polished with a sheen,” he says. “Pattern is important; and shapes are more playful, exaggerated, surrealistic, curved, or asymmetrical.” The Nova White Objects Set swirls with a lively pattern and the Fresno Blue Orb Set has asymmetry in its DNA. With its romantic modernist feel, a number of our sculptural pieces fit within the 20’s Contemporary vibe. The Greek Foot Relic with its polished surface nails the premise of “strong curves with a soft touch” and “no rough edges!”
The St. Barts style story has a fresh coastal feel and a bohemian modern look. The new Capizzi Urns in blue drip and cream have a Mediterranean vibe written all over them! Cecil’s Cottage/Farmhouse choices include the “fantasy of an urban farm” or a cottage in the city. Botanical elements are key and the style is more casual and less fussy. Our Tropical Crown Vases in small and medium bring botanicals to a new height of creativity and the Monte Carlo Vase Set is the epitome of casual. The last of Cecil’s predictions for 2025 is taking it to the “Garden” in an emphasis on indoor/outdoor living. He says the premise here is a whimsical antidote to square, plastic, and modern. The Poppy Pod Crown Vases in medium and large are delightful examples, as is the Amsterdam Tulip Vase.
What Happens in Vegas!
We hope you’ll stop by and see these special decorative objects in person and share our delight in the artistry we’ve gathered around us. We agree with the trend forecasters for the Paris design mecca Maison et Objet who describe beautiful accessories as a “delicate choreography of forms and materials” where “art and design seamlessly merge.”
